Different parts of an Orthodontic brace
Orthodontic brace compromises of three parts
1- Brackets
2- Metal wires
3- Elastic Bands
Brackets are held on the teeth by the metal wire which is simply a thin wire. Normally these brackets are on the front side of the teeth but there are few orthodontic braces which have it on the rear part. This constitutes a brace. Purpose of elastic bands is to tie up different metallic wires and is mostly not visible. After tying up different wires this becomes a set of braces.
